WWE News – Early last week, Ken Doane, formerly known as Kenny Dykstra during his run in the WWE from 2006-2008, has been dishing dirt against John Cena not only for his role in trying to get Randy Orton out of the company, but also for hooking up with former WWE Diva and Women’s Champion Mickie James, who was Doane’s girfriend at the time, prior to getting married.
SEScoops got hold of Doane for an exclusive interview about the whole thrash he’s been talking about Cena.
This news shouldn’t come as a surprise – a lot of former WWE talents usually have a lot to say negative about the company (Gail Kim, for one). Politics will always be part of any workplace, so it’s also refreshing to see a guy get pass all the niceties and just speak his mind out about what he has experienced. In the case of Doane, he reveals some vicious claims about the top babyface of WWE since 2006 that makes a lot of sense, regardless of how true his claims are.
Stupid
By talking smack (on the Internet, no less) against Cena, he not only runs his chances for another crack at the WWE roster to the ground, but he may also put his professional wrestling career in jeopardy with the way he “whined” about his situation. Not to mention, all of this stuff happened four years ago, so his revelation can be perceived as another rant by a bitter ex-employee. Although both concerns were addressed by Doane in his interview – that he knows he will be blacklisted in the WWE and that his revelation may not have come at a terrible time for Cena due to just having divorce Huberdeau less than a month ago – he appears to be unfazed by making a stand against everything that Cena represented backstage.
Savior
At the same time, Doane is right by speaking his mind out and revealing the events that have screwed his previous WWE run and his relationship. More importantly, and this is directed to the haters out there, this gives people more reason to despise Cena (as if his cardboard persona in the ring is not enough).
Personally, what Doane is trying to achieve here is his opportunity to go out with a bang. Professional wrestling is a difficult sport to be in because you either need to make it into the WWE to receive a bigger paycheck or really love the business by settling for the indie scene, which doesn’t pay a lot. He didn’t dish the dirt immediately because he probably wanted the window of opportunity open to come back to the WWE. However, since Cena hates Doane and will remain on top of the WWE roster for a foreseeable future, Kenny may might as well throw in the towel by ratting out the company’s top guy. His claims will probably come at the expense of being called a jealous ex-boyfriend and employee who never realized his potential, but that’s simply the nature of the beast. Besides, people have been thanking Doane for what he said about Cena, so there’s always a bright side to what seemed to be a backlash at his character.
Regarding the timing of his claim, I have no problem with what Doane did. Cena had it coming and there’s no “right” time for a person who has done wrong, which is to sleep around with another man’s girlfriend. This may put more stress in Cena’s current divorce proceedings, but that’s simply the price he has to pay for his actions.
At the end of the day, Cena will still win multiple WWE championships for years to come, regardless of what Doane brought up to the public – that’s just the way business works. But Doane finally gets to drop the burden that he’s been carrying all this time and move on with his own business. Good luck on your future endeavors, Mr. Doane.
